Carrie and Todd's wedding was nestled in the hills of Los Olivos, surrounded by the growing grape vines of Firestone Vineyard. Although they have been together for 10 years, they were equally giddy like school children the morning of their wedding as Carrie got ready in her Wine Country Inn room and Todd in his. Carrie and Todd are true romantics, always enjoying the other's company and always showing respect and support in the littlest way. I loved watching Todd first glance at his bride walking down the Kaleidescope Flowered aisle and catch his tears swell up as the sunlight struck her veil. Cori Lassahn pulled an amazing coordination on that one! Their ceremony was very tender and so joyful and you could literally feel Carrie and Todd's wave of excitement as Jon Ireland announced them husband and wife. I think their kiss shots prove it, but hey, I have a biased opinion. But I'm especially bias about wedding food and when I found out Pure Joy was catering, I secretly did a little jig-oh-joy! The entire night was filled with fun and laughter, sweet toasts, incredible dance moves and rappin-on-the-mic? Honestly, it was a night to remember. Congratulations Carrie & Todd Lewis!
a South Carolina Wedding
Last month I was flown out for an amazing wedding weekend in Clemson, South Carolina. My cousin Ben and his beautiful bride Katie have been together for almost 7 years and they graciously gave me unlimited access to everything going on, from their authentic Southern pig pickin' to letting me torture them by putting them back in dress and tux on one of the muggiest days of the year. It was such an honor to be a part of the whole weekend! I think everyone else had a good time, too! :) Congratulations Ben & Katie!! Love you and miss you!!
Bhe and Marin = Destination Saratoga
For their engagement shoot, Bhe, Marin and I met at Ellings park where there just happened to be a wedding in progress, so we acted like guests and snuck over to the pathway that wrapped around the upper area. Now, just a little history about these two ... when we met back in October, Marin told me right away he loathed getting his picture taken and that he doesn't like close up shots and that I should use a long lens so that I maintain a healthy distance. As I looked over at Bhe, she just giggled quietly to herself. Well, during our session that quiet giggle turned into exuberant laughter between the two of them as I snapped away. I did get close too, and Marin let down all his fears so his beautiful bride to be could have the most amazing photos for their engagemnt book. Great job Marin! Thank you so much for letting me torture you and I'm still sorry for getting your feet all tarred up, lesson learned to bring baby oil and washclothes to Hendry's Beach! I can't wait until November for your beautiful wedding at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga.
Michelle & Will est. June 7, 2009
Michelle & Will were married at the gorgeous Hartley Botanica in Somis, California. When I met with Michelle and her mom before their wedding day to scope the venue, I fell in love with the place! I mean, green gardens galore! As many who know me and Eoin will attest we loooove plants, so this place was heaven for us to shoot. Michelle was so elegant in her dress, carrying traditional Scottish heather in her bouquet and with sixpence in her shoe she walked through the arbor to her William, handsome as ever. A spectacular morning with good friends and good fun! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Pratt!
Marissa & Paul est. May 30, 2009
I got a call one day from my good friend Jihan Abdalla asking me if I was available to shoot a small wedding for her at the courthouse on May 30th. Lucky for me!! I was available to shoot as her Associate Photographer and what fun did I have that day. I love courthouse weddings!! Marissa and Paul were both so sweet and soooo beautiful, it was impossible to not get a good shot during their special day. The light was perfect, the couple was glowing, the groomsmen were hams, and the bridesmaids had sexy legs with sexy shoes, what more could I ask for? Oh yeah, I didn't have to do any of the editing, that is the blessing of being Associate. Thanks JA! And Congratulations Marissa & Paul!
